Membership Benefits: Beroe and Procurement Leaders announce a market intelligence partnership

Beroe and Procurement Leaders (PL) recently announced a partnership through which PL members can now access market intelligence via the Beroe LiVE platform. Beroe LiVE is a platform providing market intelligence reports, commodity dashboards, supplier discovery and supplier risk management. It has over 300 category reports and rates 40,000 suppliers amongst other services. PL members, apart from being able to view these reports, will also be able to download a certain number free of charge.

There is a procurement community of over 55,000 members on Beroe LiVE, spanning more than 14,000 global companies. It sounds like great news for the PL community to gain access to Beroe LiVE, but what’s in it for Beroe? We asked Beroe’s VP and Head of Partnerships, Vinod Kalyan.

“Beroe’s vision is to enable every sourcing decision. Beroe’s partnership with Procurement Leaders provides another critical channel to enable this vision. Leveraging PL’s strong connection with the CPO community, Beroe looks to expand its footprint and make Procurement Intelligence an integral part of the entire sourcing decision process and empower all stakeholders – right from the category manager to the CPO.”

Given what we know, this would appear to be an all-round win, not only for Beroe and PL, but also for the members. Beroe and PL are striving to create value for the entire procurement value chain through this partnership. On one hand we have PL with its strong connection with CPOs, creating value through its thought leadership-led networking events, and on the other hand is Beroe who are enabling category managers and sourcing teams to make smarter sourcing decision with smarter intelligence. “Procurement Leaders’ partnership with Beroe broadens the support we provide by extending our category intelligence from 70 categories to over 300 categories. That can only be great news for our members,” says Salman Mankani, Chief Commercial Officer at Procurement Leaders.

We asked Beroe about the categories it covers and the possibility of their expansion.

“We have increased our category portfolio from 252 to 311 in the past 6 months. In addition, we have several other offerings like Commodity Dashboards tracking key commodities, key category benchmarks powered by user information and supplier lists and we will continue to expand our portfolio,” asserts Kalyan.

Procurement Leaders’ mission is to inspire progress in procurement and accelerate transformational change for the world’s top organisations. Beroe’s mission is to create the most robust procurement knowledge assets and guidance in the world. Thus, affirm both parties, make them very much aligned in terms of mission and goal: while Procurement Leaders helps inspire and define the progress, Beroe supports execution through better sourcing decisions.

Beroe and Procurement Leaders will continue to offer their own distinct products and services, though they are looking at providing preferential benefits to respective members. So, should Beroe and PL competitors be worried about this partnership?

According to Beroe, they should indeed! States Kalyan: “Procurement Leaders’ and Beroe’s networks are extensive and the proposition we bring to the table is very unique and strong. Beroe is fast becoming the preferred partner of choice for several consulting firms, networks like PL and other leading providers.” Procurement Leaders’ Mankani agrees and stands behind the position his organisation holds: “Procurement Leaders is the only organisation 100% focused on the advancement of the procurement function. Every employee in our company lives and breathes this mission every day. That passion and dedication just cannot be matched by many other solution providers.”

There’s naturally a lot of excitement about this partnership within the two organisations. We look forward to hearing more about this partnership, welcoming feedback from the PL community with access to the Beroe LiVE content.
